Welcome to the Lazy Llama Ranch, 22 beautiful acres in Tumalo, Oregon. We're just outside of Bend, located in the high desert in the central part of the state. I'm Carole (shown with my grandson, Isaiah), and I'll be your guide throughout our site. The Lazy Llama Ranch has been home for my parents, Ernest and Laurette, my brother Edward, and myself since 1992. I really love this cartoon by Jeff Bucchino (the The Wizard of Draws) as it basically sums up our attitude. In reality the Lazy Llama Ranch is anything except a lazy place. With ongoing construction and animal care, life whirls by in a happy frenzy of activity. |
Throughout our site you can view more photos than those right on the pages. Simply click on the highlighted words in the text, which will open a new window with the photo in it. To close the photo, just click on the "X" in the upper right corner.
Our web site is a combination of family updates, as well as the animals we enjoy and llama related services I offer. We've planned the site so you can easily find the pages that contain the information that interests you.
| | The Ranch page is where you'll find what we've been doing to improve our beautiful farm. It's been a lot of hard work, but we're proud and happy with the ongoing results. Like any farm, it's a work in progress and there are always new projects underway. |
The high desert of Central Oregon is amazing! Bend is considered a resort town, with ample outdoor recreation for just about everyone. The Cascade mountains are great for backpackers and hikers and equestrians. On occasion you might meet up with a string of llamas on the trail. There are approximately 75 lakes within a 100 mile radius of Bend. Fishing and camping are primary family getaways in the summer time. Driving along the scenic Cascade Lakes Hwy you might come across a large herd of deer or elk grazing silently along the side of the road. In the winter you'll find snowmobiles and cross country skiers out on fresh fallen snow. Nearby Mt Bachelor Ski Resort has ski runs for beginners to advanced. They also host Winter Special Olympics each year. Whatever your fancy, Central Oregon is a great place to visit.
| Our Llamas, Animals & Services page is where you'll find llamas for sale, and a bit about my parrots and dogs. In the Spring I offer my services to others with llamas. I shear llamas and can also help owners with vaccinations, de-worming and trimming toenails. As a volunteer I belong to the COLA (Central Oregon Llama Association). In 2003 I became a board member. I have been the Librarian for four years as well as the group Parade Coordinator. I am also the Chairperson for the COLA Rescue Group. |
| Our Family page is where we keep relatives and personal friends updated on our activities. You'll find information about our background and my hobbies there, and plenty of photos of my grandson, Isaiah! We hope you enjoy your visit here and come back often to enjoy our updates. I love hearing from "like-minded" others. Please contact me to make arrangements if you'd like to visit.
